BDB Presents Poe: Annabel Lee

Mary: *To be loved at all, let alone by @Rhage_BDB, was something I could have never imagined*

Mary: *He was all consuming…my impossible miracle. And loving @Rhage_BDB was like nothing else and being love by him was something so much more*

Mary: *All the languages could never describe what I had with @Rhage_BDB. There are no words and that alone made it far more beautiful.*

Rhage: It was many and many a year ago
Rhage: In the kingdom by the sea
Rhage: That a maiden there lived whom you may know
Rhage: By the name of @MaryL_BDB
Rhage: And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Rhage: Than to love and be loved by me

Mary: @Rhage_BDB and I danced many a night. We laughed until we cried.

Rhage: I was a child and she was a child
Rhage: In this kingdom by the sea
Rhage: But we loved with a love that was more than love-
Rhage: I and my @MaryL_BDB
Rhage: With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Rhage: Coveted her and me

Rhage: *It happened so suddenly, the beginning of the end*

Rhage: And that was the reason that, long ago
Rhage: In this kingdom by the sea,
Rhage: A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
Rhage: My beautiful @MaryL_BDB

Rhage: *My heart grew heavy, the sickness tore through @MaryL_BDB faster every day*
Rhage: *The doctors said nothing could be done*

Rhage: So that her highborn kinsman came
Rhage: And bore her away from me,

Rhage: *Pain ravaged my heart and soul, my @MaryL_BDB, my life itself… was gone*
Rhage: *Death having claimed her for it’s own*

Rhage: To shut her up in a sepulchre
Rhage: In this kingdom by the sea

Rhage: *The service was simple, quiet, a farewell beside the sea*
Rhage: *A piece of my heart and soul buried alongside @MaryL_BDB*

Rhage: The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Rhage: Went envying her and me-
Rhage: Yes! That was the reason (as all men know,
Rhage: In this kingdom by the sea)
Rhage: That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Rhage: Chilling and killing my @MaryL_BDB

Rhage: *I ignored the words of sympathy handed my way, the patronizing wishes that I could move on, find love again*
Rhage: *Those fools! How could they not have seen what @MaryL_BDB and I had? The love we shared*
Rhage: *They knew nothing*

Rhage: But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Rhage: Of those who were older than we-
Rhage: Of many far wiser than we-

Rhage: *Life continues around me, my mind a haze, thoughts constantly on @MaryL_BDB*
Rhage: *Her scent lingers on our pillows and sheets, her clothes still hang in neat rows in the closet*
Rhage: *My heart continues to beat for her, though we are apart for now*
Rhage: *Nothing…NOTHING, can change the love I feel for her*

Rhage: And neither the angels in heaven above
Rhage: Nor the demons down under the sea,
Rhage: Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Rhage: Of the beautiful @MaryL_BDB

Rhage: *Waking suddenly from a dream, visions of @MaryL_BDB and I still dancing through my mind*
Rhage: *The night calling me to the window where the starless sky meets my eye*
Rhage: *Finding the ever present moon, stretching my hand to hold it in my palm, like @MaryL_BDB used to do*

Rhage: For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Rhage: Of the beautiful @MaryL_BDB
Rhage:  And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Rhage: Of the beautiful @MaryL_BDB;

Rhage: *Lying down beside @MaryL_BDB, the rush of waves pounding in my ears in time with my heart*
Rhage: *Whispering* @MaryL_BDB, my beautiful Mary, my love, my mate, my shellan…
Mary: My love, @Rhage_BDB. I am always near, though you can neither see me nor hear…
Mary: …for I am tied to you by bonds that can never be undone. My soul entwined with yours then, now…and for eternity.
Rhage: *Closing my eyes, letting the sound of the waves carry me away*
Rhage: *My nightly ritual a soothing balm to my soul*

Rhage: And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Rhage: Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
Rhage: In the sepulchre there by the sea,
Rhage: In her tomb by the sounding sea  #BDB #Poe
